What happened
The Doctor becomes Unified and rescues Ava from a world erased backwards. Their journey takes them to the Prime Loom and into conflicts over who may shape reality. Encounters with alternate possibilities complicate identity without making those possibilities inevitable.
Where the book leaves us
Caldrex attempts to replace the existing order with a shadow-Loom. The Doctor offers Ava a thread and a choice; the counterthread is dissolved. The ending turns from cosmic machinery to trust: Ava pilots while the Doctor rests. Becoming Unified has begun a relationship as well as a new phase of his life.
