What happened
Vox Mechanica’s pursuit of perfect order intersects with the Master’s acceleration and an old Theta design. Raven’s doubles and the Unmade expose what the project cannot accommodate: contradiction and choice. Raven’s decision is active, not an instruction supplied by the Doctor.
Where the book leaves us
The mechanical scheme is disrupted and its remaining seed receives a final farewell aboard the TARDIS. In the quieter aftermath, Raven explicitly declares her love at a Paris café, and the Doctor responds with affection. The book resolves its immediate mechanism while carrying the changed relationship forward.
